February 13, 2012

Hello friends and family!!!!!!!!!! Alright this week has been freezing!!!! winter has finally arrived in Virginia. I hope you all are doin well. Hope your week has been full of LOVE and that your enjoying the valentines day spirit:) I am so glad I dont have to worry about this holiday at least for another year. It really saves you money. :) Well this week was great and alot of great things lay in store for us and for our area.
Its so crazy for me to think that a year ago I was in the mtc!!! So crazy to think, It didnt even feel like a year has gone by. But I hope this year slows down so I can enjoy the mission life. I love my mission and it just gets better day by day. I love the trials and hard things I go through on my mission because I know they are only there to build me and make me stronger. I love the experience I am having and for how much I have grown to love the scriptures and being apart of this great work. Being a missionary is great.
This week is going to be really exciting because we are getting a baptism this week!!! We are pretty stoked for that!!! Although are person being baptized is going through such a hard time. Its really sad, but the coolest part is he is staying positive through it all!!! We are so excited for him. all he needs is one more interview which we are hoping he will pass, then he is on his way for this weekend. A guy I interviewed for baptism a couple weeks ago got baptized this last saturday. It was amazing to see all the changes he had to make in order to get baptized. This brother had a hard time breakin the habbit for smoking but the missionaries promised him something way cool. They said, "brother if you read the book of mormon everyday, I promise you will get baptized" It was an amazing promise. So instead of smoking he picked up the book of mormon and read everyday, this brother was able to stop smoking and is doing great !!!!!!!! You would have never thought this guy would be able to make those changes, but he did, and it was through faith that he was able to make those changes. It was an amazing baptism and the spirit was so strong, I was thinkin when I get home I am going to as missonary baptisms as I can because the spirit is amazing.
So this week I have been reading the scriptures so much. Like always because this time I have noticed things I have never noticed before. I came across a scripture today I have really grown to love. its in mosiah.
11 And again I say unto you as I have said before, that as ye have come to the knowledge of the glory of God, or if ye have known of his goodness and have tasted of his love, and have received a remission of your sins, which causeth such exceedingly great joy in your souls, even so I would that ye should remember, and always retain in remembrance, the greatness of God, and your own nothingness, and his goodness and long-suffering towards you, unworthy creatures, and humble yourselves even in the depths of humility, calling on the name of the Lord daily, and standing steadfastly in the faith of that which is to come, which was spoken by the mouth of the angel.
12 And behold, I say unto you that if ye do this ye shall always rejoice, and be filled with the love of God, and always retain a remission of your sins; and ye shall grow in the knowledge of the glory of him that created you, or in the knowledge of that which is just and true.
I really loved this scripture, I love the blessing from verse 12. I really love how it says we should humble ourselves in depths of humilty. I have been ponderin that line over and over again. i really in order to recieve blessings I gotta humble myself, and call on my father in heaven in faith. I realized prayer is more than just gettin on our knees and saying a faithfull prayer, we really should think about who we are talking to and show humilty to him who blesses us daily. I know that is true , I know our father in heaven will bless us as we humble ourselves. I realixe I can pray with much more meaning and we should treat every prayer with respect show that love to him who loves us most. i guess a good example of this would be, when we invite our investigators to pray recently it seems as if they are scared to pray as if someone is going to judge their prayers, but when they pray I can really tell they are communicating with god. that they are showing that humility for them, i have come to love hearing my investigators and those i teach pray , its amazing. I love that scripture.
Well life is pretty good for me, I hope you all know how greatful I am for you, I can tell this week is going to be so great!! I hope and pray we can find that elect person who is being prepared for us we are hoping to find them this week, we think we have an idea on who it is. :) I am excited. I know that the lord has blessed me so much in my life with such wonderful blessings. family friends most of all MY MISSION!!! I hope you all have such a great week. and remember i love ya. And most of all lets us express that love our father in heaven who loves us most this Valentines day!!!! I LOVE YA!!!!!! have a great week.
Happy valentines day.

love elder bentley:

Hi McLaws'
I appreciate getting all the emails from Elder Bentley, he is doing exactly the right thing at exactly the right time in his life. He will be forever grateful that he did and that you supported him in his service to others. His Sevice will profoundly affect the lives of all he meets and works with. The Holy Ghost will make that sure they feel both his love for them and the Savior's love.

What a WEEK!!!!!!!!!! We are having a baptism on Febuary 11. We have been teaching this one guy who is college age but doesnt go to svu and our visits have been so amazing!! So we taught him on tuesday about the word of wisdom. and he is giving up smoking and drinking and everything!!!! he hasnt done anything besides the day after we taught him that, he said my water is nasty and they have to clean it or something so he went to the fridge it was either vodka or tea, good thing he chose tea because thats kinda better than alchol, but still no excues haha since then he is doing great and obeying that commandment, then we meet with him saturday and he asked us if he could move his baptisimal date up, we said of course!!! so he going to be baptized on Febuary 18 and getting interviewed this thursday!!!! Things are great for him. He said he loves this church and he feels like this is where he is supposed to be!!!!! Its been so great to see him make a change for the better, to watch him change from his old life style and choose the path thats best for him. he said he is making much better friends and having so much fun. I am proud of him and all my recent converts who I have been willing to help and be a witness of the savior being apart of their lives. It truely is amazing!!! We are so close to finding the elect in our area so close!!!!!! The lord is blessing us so much and now we just have to act on those people and get em baptized. We were so excited to have one of our investigators that we have been working with finally come to church for the first time after 3 months with her son. that made us so happy to hear that she was coming!!!!! I hope her experience was postive and we cant wait to sit down and meet with her and answer her questions. I am excited!!!! We were willing to set a baptisimal date with someone in BV I hope we can help this baptism go through its on March 3 going to cross my fingers!!! We also ran into a former this week that we might start teaching i am excited. things are great on our neck of the woods.
So we had the funniest sacrament meetings yesterday. In our first sacrament meeting that we went to, thia girl was bearing her testimony on how her parents finially went to church for the first time, it was so spiritual!!!! when all of a sudden, the girl said " so my parent finally came to church" and then this baby yells out "oh no" at the most perfect time, the whole congregation just busted up laughing. It was so great one of the best sacrament meetings i have ever seen!!! :)
So this morning I was reading from second nephi and I loved these 2 verses in 12-13 :
12 But, behold, they shall have wars, and rumors of wars; and when the day cometh that the Only Begotten of the Father, yea, even the Father of heaven and of earth, shall manifest himself unto them in the flesh, behold, they will reject him, because of their iniquities, and the hardness of their hearts, and the stiffness of their necks.
13 Behold, they will crucify him; and after he is laid in a sepulchre for the space of three days he shall rise from the dead, with healing in his wings; and all those who shall believe on his name shall be saved in the kingdom of God. Wherefore, my soul delighteth to prophesy concerning him, for I have seen his day, and my heart doth magnify his holy name.
These 2 verses I really loved. I pondered these verses morning again and again and again just thinking of my savior, my friend and the love and kindness that he showed just for me by going through so much. I thought about my weakness and all the trials and hard times i go through. Its rough, its hard , its not easy. But as I thought this morning I know that was my savior was called to do to ease those things that weigh me down in my life, I know that its through him I can return to my father in heaven , who I know loves me so much. who carries me in my weakest times. who supports me. I pray that I can become like him, that I will use that special gift of repentance as much as I can for my benefit so I can be worthy before him. I know im not perfect, but i strive constantly to be as he his and sometimes I fail, but i know that repentance can bring us to a higher plane and can only bring us closer to him. I hope and i pray that my savior knows how much I love him and father in heaven. I know that these things are true with all my heart and "I know that my redeemer lives".
Micah James. . . I want you to know how much I love you buddy. . . I am so greatful for you and everything that you do for me. Bud I pray that you will continue to set that example within our family, serve a mission, I promise you so many people are waiting for you and your awesome spirit. I know that you can change lives bud and you would do great wherever you go. I love you buddy so much. I hope you have an awesome week. stay stron and firm in the gospel. if you get the chance read alma 26 i love this scripture about ammon telling us about his mission. January 30, 2012

Well hello everyone!!!!!!!!! I hope you all have had a great week!!!! It got pretty cold on us this week. I miss the hot arizona weather. But thank goodness its not snowing and its been like an arizona winter, its amazing. Can you all believe I have been out a year it went by so fast!! its crazy!!!

Well this week has been pretty fun. I had another pretty cool experience this week. If there is one thing I have grown to learn it is not to cut the lords work early to go back to the apartment. I know that the lord will bless us with people to find even if time seems so little and doesnt matter. This week we got done with a book of mormon class that we were doing. It was like 8:30 p.m. We decided we would go try this one apartment complex where we had a refferal. We got to the apartment complex the people ended up not answering the door. we went down the stairs and before stepping outside the apartment complex, I said Elder Davis lets pray and see what we can do for these last 20 minutes, Elder davis prayed and while he was praying I felt like we needed to go to a certain street close by. It came clearly to my mind where we should go and I knew it was the spirit. We were carrying a plate of cookies that a member made for us, and while walking there someone from the mission presidency stopped us on the street and asked if we would like chinese food we said sure, so while walking to this steet we were carrying a full meal. I thought it was akward and I wondered if we were going to bless someones night by giving them dinner. Anyways we got to the steet where we were supposed to be. We knocked on a house and no one answered so we continued along the steet we ended up skiping a house and went directly to a house that had doors wide open!! we went and knocked but no one came to the door, when all of a sudden 2 guys walk out of the house that we skipped. . . they told us that an old lady lived there. we went down to introduce ourselves to them. One of the guys went and shut the door and ran back to his place to grab his headphones. we ended up talking to one of the guys that stayed outside and asked if he would be interested in hearing about what we have to share as missionaries. he said for sure!!! then his friend came back we proceeded to ask him and he said for sure. I know that we were supposed to talk to those two guys. I hope we will be able to follow up with one of them and teach them. I am greatful for this opportunity which I had to listen to the spirit and seek out the lords help in those minutes.

I want you all to know I got a strong testimony of this gospel. I love this work so much. This past year I have really grown to love my father in heaven. I am greatful for pray and the opportunity which I have to communicate with him at anytime. I have really been able to count on him to help me, he is someone I know i can trust as friend. I love him. I love serving him. I am so indeed greatful to be a represenative of my savior Jesus Christ. I know I stand as his represenative at all times and in all things and in all places, I know he sacraficed for every single one of us so we can be with our loving heavenly father. I am greatful to know that my savior is willing to forgive of all my weakness, I make so many mistakes but I pray that through the atonement he will help make my weak things become strong. I love him . I pray that I will serve my fullest this year to improve on my weaknesses. I remember a year ago I was sittting on that plane to salt lake. I promised my father I would give him 110% . I pray that i will give only that. I am so greatful to be a missonary of this church. I know that this church is true. We are so blessed to have a prophet that talks to god. I am so greatful for my family friends I love you all so much. Thank You for being my support, thank you for keeping me motivated. I love you all so much. I pray that we always remember to share the gospel whenever we have that blessed opportunity. I love you all so much have such a great week.

January 24, 2012

Howdy ya'all!!! I hope you all are doin fantastic this week was pretty exciting on neck of the woods. I have had alot of cool experiences this week spiritual and just awesome experience that not to many missionaries get. :).
I will start with the exciting news. This week Elder Piper from the first quorum of the 70 came and talked to our mission this weekend. He mad our mission a pretty cool promise while he meet, he said if we as missionaries would be prayerful every companionship in the mission could find and baptize someone in 6 weeks. I thought that was a pretty cool promise from a servant of the lord. He said we need to find someone who is elect and prepared by the lord. I know that the lord is preparing someone in "BV" I know that those elect people are out there. So the cool part was when Elder Piper came he interviewed me. . . I was so nervous. So I sat down straight across me he asked me, where I was from, how long I have been on a mission, He asked me how often I wrote my family, he said to write them every week. and he told me to make a promise to you all. He wanted me to to you all thank you from him for letting me serve a mission. So someone from the 70 told me to tell you all thank you for letting me serve. I wanna thank you all for your support which you give to me on a mission. Every single one of you help me out so much and I really appreciate it. So then he asked me if I was obedient, what I learned from the meeting, he asked if I sustain president Pitt as my mission president. Then I went on to tell him how I was I grateful for him and I sustain him. It was a great interview, after I walked out president Pitt was waiting by the door and he said this is one of the finest elders in the mission, isnt he great. . So that was a pretty cool.
Me and elder partridge went on exchanges this week. We went Tracting and this was probably one of the weirdest exchanges ever. We knock on a couple of doors and we get this referral from a member to try this house on the corner so we did. We were walking up to the door and we looked through the window and saw this person run and a trail of pink follow her. We get up to the door and knocked and no one answered so we continued tracting and we got half way down the street and we looked back at that house and saw this lady standing in a pink robe leaning against her house and she was like that for a good while. When after two houses she was gone!! and it wasnt even a second then we look back and we saw her staring at us through her back door window, in her house staring, it was so weird haha. It was something you only see in a scary movie haha. That was fun.
Then Me and elder Davis had an amazing visit yesterday with a less- active. We have eaten dinner with this brothers family alot and his family is all active but somewhere down the line he wont come to church. We are really good friends with this family. So I felt really impressed the day before we should go visit him. We went the next morning at around 11:30 A.M and he was home we sat down and talked about his family, how his family was doing so well at church, but we didnt want to make it awkward and we couldnt find a way to lead into to inviting him to church. So I jumped into it and said brother we miss seeing you at church, we went on to tell him how much we love his family and him, we explained the blessings of attending church we read a scripture from 3 nephi, and This whole time I was sitting there bearing my testimony. It was amazing the spirit was so strong, afterwards he looks at me, and says elder bentley it looks like something is weighing you down. . . I looked at him and said ya. . something is. . " We love ya and we want you to come back to church" he immediately started crying. . . I knew that the spirit said everything he needed. He asked if I would give the closing prayer I did. and I felt the spirit so much, and I know this brother did, i hope he realized the importance of coming back to church. This is one of the coolest experiences I will always remember.
Something I have been tryin to work on alot is charity. . . i wanna share with you all a quote from Marvin J. Ashton:

"Perhaps the greatest charity comes when we are kind to each other, when we don’t judge or categorize someone else, when we simply give each other the benefit of the doubt or remain quiet. Charity is accepting someone’s differences, weaknesses, and shortcomings; having patience with someone who has let us down; or resisting the impulse to become offended when someone doesn’t handle something the way we might have hoped. Charity is refusing to take advantage of another’s weakness and being willing to forgive someone who has hurt us. Charity is expecting the best of each other.

None of us need one more person bashing or pointing out where we have failed or fallen short. Most of us are already well aware of the areas in which we are weak. What each of us does need is family, friends, employers, and brothers and sisters who support us, who have the patience to teach us, who believe in us, and who believe we’re trying to do the best we can, in spite of our weaknesses. What ever happened to giving each other the benefit of the doubt? What ever happened to hoping that another person would succeed or achieve? What ever happened to rooting for each other?"

I know that charity is much more than just the pure love of christ, I have been tryin this my whole life to be patient with others dispite of their weakness but I am greatful for the pure love of christ that comforts me and i love this scripture in Moroni 7:47-48
47 But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.
48 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure. Amen.
I know if we pray with all the energy of heart we can be filled with this special gift. I know with charity we will see our father like he is and we will be purified even as he is pure. What an amazing promise by developing a christ like attribute. I pray that we will always remember to have charity and remember how important it is in our daily lives.
Mckay I want you to know I love you cuz so much, I am praying for you to feel better. Remember you are the best I know that heavenly father is watching over you he loves you and my prayers are for. i love you cuz . feel better. I miss all the times we hung out and went to the lake and went out to eat that was always so fun. your the best buddy. hang in there you will make it through. remember these trials sometimes are made to bring us closer to our father in heaven. you are well taken care of :) like one of my favorite hymns say "dont forget to pray". . .
Well turns out I am not getting transfered im staying at least another 6 weeks in BV. I know there is alot to do here in BV. Im still going to be district leader and no one else is leaving in our district. Well I love you all so much. I pray that you all are well. And may all the lords richest blessings be with you. I love ya.

January 16, 2012

Whata week. Today I got to emails late we just got done playing basketball over here at SVU we played on the college court with some members it was pretty fun to be playing again!!! So I hope everyone has had such a great week. this week "BV" was rockin, we worked so hard this week and it flowed so well!!!!
Well first i guess I will start with the happy news, we gotta baptism this week. Brenton Esdorf got baptized he is from Australia ( has a pretty cool accent). It was so awesome to see someone I taught get baptized. He was supper nervous for his baptism but I am so glad he did it. Ill send some pictures home next week so you all can see. I am so greatful for these tender mercies in my life that I am able to be a part of. It was amazing to watch someone completely change their life to follow their savior. a couple months ago I never thought brenton would commit to a date but he did. It was pretty amazing. I wish you all could be here to watch these changes its pretty amazing. So the spirit was so strong during the baptism, our old student ward mission leader conducted the baptismal service( he recently just had his mom pass away) It was amazing to me to see him conduct this baptism, to see someone fufill their calling after going through a hard time was pretty cool to see. So the baptism was fantastic and I am greatful I got to witness it.
So yesterday we had an awesome day at church me and Elder davis were sitting on the back row reading scriptures during sacrament meeting in our student ward. When all of a sudden right after the sacrament a member of the bishopric shows up with one of his friends and ask if he could sit next to us we said sure that would be great. He sat next to us we barely talked for the rest of the meeting, right after sacrament we asked how he liked it, He said it was a bit nervous, what made us happy though is that the ward instantly ran up to him and fellow-shipped him. It was awesome. So we have seen this guy a couple times because he works at buger king. but anyways back at the ranch. . he proceeded to go to sunday school, and members sat by him we had to go to another church meeting. But we saw him right after church this was my favorite part. he walked up to us with a member, with a book of mormon in one hand and a institute flier in another and said that he was going to sign up for classes. That made me happy. . . then he asked us who is Joseph Smith? We were like we can answer that for ya :) . He said he enjoyed church , and he would concider bein baptized and we are meeting with him this week.
This week I had the chance to go on exchanges with another missionary. . . I gotta tell ya sometimes its hard. If there is one thing I dont wanna end up like its always talking about home . . I just wanna serve faithfullly till the end and not worry about home near the end of my mission. It was an alright exchange. The cool part was we invited someone to be baptized on the porch, its pretty fun to extend one :).
Transfers are next week so everyone no more mail for a while. . . I will let you know next week what is going on. I honestly dont know wether Ill leave or not.
i wouldnt mind staying on the other hand I wouldnt mind having a car. ha but we will see.
We get to see Elder Piper from the 70 this weekend I am pretty excited for that president pitt is basically having us read the whole book of mormon its pretty fun I hope I can finish it by this weekend.
I had an interview with president pitt this week. I am so greatful to have him as my mission president he is awesome. I really hope I can be one of those missionaries he can trust. There is one thing that stuck out to me when he was talking to me he said we as missionaries need to repent or do whatever it takes to be a better missionary. In my patriarchal blessing it says that " i need to follow the principles of the gospel." If there is one principle I knew more about it , it would be repentance I wish I had a deeper knowledge of the atonement . I pray that all missionaries would experience that simple principle of the gospel. I know that is how we can come to know our savior better and become a better friend with him as we exercise the gospel in our life. I love my savior and I am greatful for repentance. I know it works.
I am so greatful to be serving , I pray that you all will have a blessed week. I love you all so much. Let Us All Press On In The Work Of The Lord!!!!!!

Howdy ya all!!! Well this week has had its up's and down's kinda like an elevator. Its been pretty interesting. I have grown so much spiritually and im excited to tell you all about it. I hope you all had a great week:) . Thats what matters most to me as long as blessings are goin your way im happy as can be.

So like I said this week has been a pretty crazy week mentally, physically, and spiritually!?!?! Well this week we had to get new student wards. That was really a bummer. . im going to miss the student wards we were in. It was so different going to 8 hours of church. We seriously spent all day at the church. haha :) CRAZY!!! But i like it, it keeps us busy :). So we had to give all of our investigators in the student wards to other elders and they basically left us with nothin besides one investigator. So thats a bit rough that we have to hand basically all of our investigators over to them. But its alright. So my birthday was pretty great. It was really great I am thankful for all the emails I got today and all the birthday wishes , thank you all so much :). I am glad I got to celebrate my birthday on my mission, it was awesome. Although we got dropped by one of our top investigators in the buena vista ward. :( that didnt make birthday any happier. but its alright there is always hope :). So as you can see that was just the beggining of our week. So it started off a bit rough. Then one of our investigators moved to richmond this week so that just put the icing on the cake. This week we have done alot of tracting probably the most since i got here. There was this one house I knocked on where these dogs were barkin and the lady said just keep walkin up the street those dogs will bite, safe to say the dogs were small chichwawas and we didnt make it up to the door haha. haha. dogs ruin everything around here. but we found a couple of potentials so thats been fun.

So this week has a spiritual booster. We had an awesome day yesterday we had companion study yesterday with elder ridges ( this is a senior couple- he wrote the books called " book of mormon made easier and etc. ) he helped us answer a question that an investigator asked so that was pretty cool :) . Senior couples are so cool. I hope I can be one of them when I am older :) . Then I had a cool fast yesterday. I fasted yesterday to know how I can constantly have the spirit with me. Last night i went to the "CES" devotional and listened to Jay E. Jensen. the one that was here a couple of weeks ago. He talked last night about the spirit and one thing that stuck out to me in his talk was about bein worthy of that spirit always, which may mean repenting or stayin strong through hard times. I just gotta always remember to stay worthy of that spirit. I loved recieving an answer to my fast and I am greatful to know heavenly father hears and answers our prayers. So this week i heard a pretty neat story. This kid in our ward wanted to attend UVU for next semester, his parents made all the preparations for him to attend. packed his bags and before he left his dad said "dont forget the can of air your going to need it just in case. But he forgot and left. He was driving got into wyoming and there was a snow storm. when all of a sudden his tire blew , he managed to be able to pull his car to the side of the road to an off ramp and he called his family and his family said get onto the on ramp you might have better luck. the whole time he was on the phone with them. This boy was standing in the cold patiently waiting for someone to help him on new years eve. while his family was on the phone they gathered all the family together and said a family prayer askin for someone to help their son,2 minutes later their prayer was answered. A lady came by the went put air in the tire and the lady ended up inviting them to a karaoke bar. Ha I just thought that story was pretty cool how a family turned to heavenly father when there son was in need. What an amazing story. I hope we will always remember to turn to our heavenly father in our time of need . . .

So this week like i said ha had its up and downs. we are excited that brenton is gettin baptized this week. :) !!!! I hope this week will be so much better. I am greatful to be out here serving. I pray that i will always be worthy of that spirit. I am thankful for our loving heavenly father who blesses my family with so many blessings. I love you all so much. I hope you all have such a great week . Thank you for everything. HURRAH FOR ISRAEL!!!!!!!!!

So tomorrow is my 20th birthday, so I am pretty excited to out of my teenage years and now i can consider myself an adult!!!! I am greatful for my mom and all my family that has helped get so far in my life. I am greatful that my family has been there for me every step of the way in my life and has always been there. i greatful that I can trust them and for how much they help me as a missionary. I love you and thank you for your support and your love. I am greatful for my wonderful friends that I know I can trust i am greatful for them and all that the have done to help me.
So today I have out 11 months!!! Time has seriously flown by. I cant believe I almost have a year left I remember when i left the airport it almost seems like the other day. I hope and pray that this new year I wont waste one single minute of my mission. I hope I can be a powerful servant of my heavenly father and my elder brother Jesus Christ and be the best representatives as i can be. i love my mission and i hope that this year will be the greatest as I serve my master in this great work.
This week has been so so so busy. I did my first baptismal interview this week, I had the great opportunity to interview someone that elder partridge was teaching. I never thought in the world that I would interview someone that my trainer was teaching so that was pretty cool. I interviewed this guy named franki peters and you prolly wont believe this but the missionaries meet this guy 2 weeks ago. and he just got baptized on december 31. It was a great great interview . The spirit was so strong and I enjoyed bein able to conduct the interview and to see if someone was worthy for baptism, his testimony was amazing the friday before his baptism we were all doing service with him all the missionaries for a non member. Franki got asked if he would like a ciggarate and he answered and said "no, my body is a temple." it was so great to hear that . What a cool story it was to watch this brother get baptized. I also had another opportunity this week to conduct another baptisimal interview for this guy named larry gilbery, he called the missionaries the other day and he told them about his interview. He said the one thing that the stuck out to me during the interview was that the missionary said" I need to read the book of mormon everyday wether its a line or a couple verses or pages he said that I should read everyday". Its was so great to be able to hear that from someone I interviewed. Things are going really really great for us. I am greatful for these awesome experience I am having and bein a witness of. Then Brenton the guy from australlia that we have been teaching had his interview this week:)!!!!! and he passed and is gettin baptized on January 14 so that is pretty exciting. whats sad is that we have to change student wards so it wont count for our numbers!!!!! crazy!!! wish wards didnt have to change but we are going to continue teaching the students that we have and hopefully they get baptized. :) !!
So our family ward has been doin really well!!! we had a pretty cool experience this week with someone that we were teaching on new years eve we went over and visited this family . We were tryin to visit this lady named tanya chamber who we were tryin to visit. We got there and the husband answered and told us to come back in an hour and we had a member with us so we did we come back in an hour and their 15 year old daughter answered and said my mom and family is busy but we somehow got through her and her aunt comes out tanya's sister. We both were thinkin oh noshe is going to tell us to leave and etc. but it acctually went totally oppisite. Her sister talked about how she is lookin for something right and asked alot of questions and ended up giving her a book of mormon and this other guy a book of mormon the probleme is they all live in Richmond. (im pretty sure the richmond misson loves us because they get so many referrals from us its crazy!!! So we asked the sister if we could see tanya she invited us inside we talked to tanya answered all her questions and the member who was a sister did a fantastic job at answerin questions. We invited tanya to read from the book of mormon since she is going through a difficult time right now with her 6 month year old in the hospital. She agreed to read and we are hoping to get there whole family interested. We have another lady that we are teaching who is moving to richmond tomorrow and has a baptismal date for january 28 we were so bummbed but its alright . hopefully we will be blessed soon enough:).
Well this week i taught my first district meeting that was pretty fun . Ihope i did good i was super nervous but its alright. Later this month we going to be hearing from elder pieper from the 70 and I am prettty excited for that. president pittt has challenged to read from the book of mormon I am halfway through again. this time im highlighting every time it brings up the gospel or the holy ghost so repentance, baptism. I highlight it. Its pretty cool to see how often it brings the gospel up in the book of mormon i love it.
Well I am so indeed greatful for this new years I hope I can give a 110% to my heavenly father this year and this great work. I love my mission its the best I wouldnt trade it for the world. Well I hope you all have a great new years and I love you all so much. thankyou so much. PRESS FORWARD SAINTS WITH STEADFAST FAITH IN CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
